Ringing up sales as fast as they can!

My work is right inside the front door-lots of color!

The Indigenous “Art Tile Show” is in full swing. The place was packed on Saturday. Stop by when you get a chance to see how many ways there are to change a slab of clay. The interpretations are endless and exciting. My work looks great right inside the front door. The 5″ minis continue to be a popular choice. Let me know what you think.

Woman’s Art Club Juried Show May 2-18

I wonder what she is thinking...

Gail with her grand prize winner!

The opening for the Woman’s Art Club spring show was filled with artists, onlookers and patrons of the arts. There was live music, wonderful food and excitement in the air. Gail Morrison, one of my personal favorites, took home the grand prize medal and a sizable check. Other winners were announced. Everyone seemed happy to be in the newly renovated barn, out of the rain, and enjoying a day of art. One of my former students, Elizabeth Witham, was also accepted in this prominent show. She is a graduating senior at Mt. St. Joe. I am very proud of her. It was rewarding to see both of our work in the same venue.

March Madness at PAC

Thursday, March 25th, 2010

We are ready in Studio #315 for tomorrow’s Final Friday at Pendleton. Look for springtime images of the countryside, flowers, flip flops and birds. You may even see a cow or a sheep munching on those flowers. Also in the studio tomorrow night will be TAILFEATHERS BOUTIQUE from New Albany, OH. It is also “Warrior Night” for past and current warrior students and teachers. Tom Shessler will be providing Italian cuisine as well as contributions from Cathy Ransenberg and Ann Arbogast. All indications are that it will be a fun night at PAC. Come and join us if you can!

Coming soon-information on the location and dates for the Artists’ Studio at the Cincinnati Flower Show in Symmes Township. 20 artists have been chosen and I am IN. Looking forward to a great show again this year.

Artist of the Year 2010-11 for the New Albany Symphony

Monday, March 1st, 2010

Saturday night February 27th at Hayley Gallery, in New Albany, Ohio, the new face of the New Albany Symphony was announced. I have been chosen to design the poster and image for all publicity for the 2010-11 symphony! This year’s artist, Karen Rumora, was introduced, and her beautiful painting was auctioned off to benefit the symphony. Her painting focused on a violin painted in warm, earthy tones contrasting against a rich blue background. Next Sunday, March 7th the symphony will perform “Vino and Vivaldi” at 7PM. Karen and the previous year’s artist, Kirsten Bowen, will be present. They will paint on stage during the concert. I am proud and appreciative of this honor. I look forward to a continuing relationship with this vibrant fine arts community.
