My work using paper incorporates the use of photos that I have taken, manipulated and printed. The images are applied to a painted image. Several layers of torn photos are applied in a spontaneous and painterly way. Loose washes of paint and inks are then applied. Fine line and detail is then painted over the surface. The entire surface is then varnished. The layers of varnish make the edges of the paper disappear. The final result is an active and vibrant painting that begs the viewer to take a closer look.
