SEEDS

Seeds are the source of everything. They are the beginning of an idea. Seeds are the source of growth and faith. Seeds are essential. We plant them to grow crops and flowers. We have to have faith to believe that the seeds we sow will bring forth a harvest. As artists we “sow seeds” by giving our business cards to potential customers. We do this with faith that we may hear from these people at a later date. Many things can get in the way of the harvest of opportunities. Just as the weather can ruin the growth of crops, the economy can dissuade buyers from fulfilling promises of return to our studios. In this difficult time of uncertainty we must hang on to our faith and continue to plant seeds. We have to remain strong and confident. Optimism is necessary now more than ever. That being said, I continue to plant seeds in my studio and with my work. This piece is the first one of a series dedicated to the sowing of seeds. I look forward to exploring the theme of seeds, be they creative or literal. It is time to be confident and plant our seeds. I can’t wait to see what the future will bring!

Wow! That is one of the coolest paragraphs I’ve ever read. What a wake up call. I need to go sow some seeds so I can grow myself. (and get out of the house more so the wife stays sane!)

I’m going to be busy for a while .. you keep writing .. and painting!

THANK YOU PETE! So nice of you to comment. It is a tough world out there. We have to remain positive, right? You go out and have a GREAT DAY! (And, we know that football season is almost here!!!! That will give us something to cheer about!)

I love the ideas you are conveying in this work and in your paragraph posted with it! It is such a true artist statement and yet one that applies to many other areas in all our lives. As I start another school year I will try to remember the seeds that I am sowing with young children and will continue to strive to instill a love of the arts in them! Hope you are well… I always love to check out your site and see what amazing things you are doing! ~A
